Three Sisters is staged in a sitting room, with a group of friends who have come together to do a reading of the classic play. But as the piece progresses, it begins to sway into reality, melting the boundaries between theatrical process and production, between actor/friend and character/family. This young group’s relationship to despair and the role of work comes to the fore as it takes earnestly Chekhov’s assertion — ‘This life of ours is not over yet’.
